KIDSHAPER UK

November saw the Kidshaper conference launched in the UK.

110 Delegates came from all over the UK – from Plymouth and Torquay (way down south) to Fraserburgh (way up north in Scotland). They were cross denominational, with representatives from Elim, AOG, Anglican, Independent, New Frontiers and Baptist churches. However, each person carried the same spirit, were looking for something different, something new, wanting a progression and a change from the status quo.

The aims and goals of Kidshaper UK were achieved – to be inspirational and informational – to facilitate an apostolic network of like-minded people, united by the cause of children – to promote and resource Kids ministry in Europe.

Overall, the first Kidshaper UK was a huge success in many ways, and we cannot thank the team enough for their enthusiasm, generosity and hard work in organizing and ministering at the conference. Well done!! Below are comments from some of the delegates:

“I feel like I have been injected with 100’s of syringes full of faith and I really can’t wait to see what God has got in store for my town!”

“An excellent opportunity to evaluate, reflect and move on! Excellent teaching, excellent ideas – very thought provoking – definitely ignition!”

“Very well organized in a laid back way!”

“Great! Different from the norm! Catering was the best!”

“It helped me to see there are certain steps I can take to make this ministry most effective.”

“Superb! Really valued all the speakers and I am definitely bringing the whole team next year! Good to have the emphasis on ‘hear what God is saying to you’ rather than ‘copy me’.”

“Kidshaper has given me more confidence and enabled dreams/visions I thought were impossible.”

“I feel totally inspired and regenerated to go back to church to continue to lead the children we have now and the ones who will follow.”

“Very encouraging and empowering – refreshing as a leader.”

Every now and then you meet someone who has that kindred spirit. You are different people but there is a commonality that connects you. I had the privilege this week of meeting one of the maestros of kids ministry in the UK, Dave Sharples.

Dave with his wife Steff, head up the kids ministry at Frontline Church in Liverpool. They set up and run the amazing Kidz Klub concept attracting well over 500 kids a week.

Dave had an unbelievable opportunity to speak at the Conservatives conference.his passion is evident as he pleas for hope rather than bureaucracy. 6000 views already!

Mastermind Phil Vischer has done it! Jelly Telly is on the air!

The Jelly’s On!

And it's working almost perfectly! I say "almost" because we're having an issue where some credit cards are getting stuck if they don't authorize immediately… some technical glitch that Tim is trying to solve as we speak. Tim estimates it affected about 30% of attempted subscribers overnight. Hopefully we'll have that ironed out soon.

So… this is a temporary design for the site. The real site is finally in development (thanks to the funding) and will look better and work better than this temp site. But we wanted you to get a chance to start watching the shows and spreading the word. Give us a few hours here to work out the credit card bug and make sure everything is working properly, then it's time to start telling your friends about JellyTelly. Our opportunity to impact kids and make a difference in our culture is huge - and you all can play a part in this.

The thinktank meeting for this was like a blender set on pulse without a lid!

We tried to think of something to call the show, someone said well if this meeting is anything to go by we could call it blender TV.

Oh great, kids everywhere will be jamming their hands into blenders! We need something harmless, like............................... A spoon

And so it was born, spoon town, spoonman, spoon kitchen, spoon tales etc etc etc

1. You're unreliable

An employee who says one thing and does the other, doesn't complete tasks or meet deadlines and always has excuses causes headaches for bosses - and can make them look bad to the higher ups - a big no-no.

PROGRESSIVE?

Technology moves so quickly, if we don't keep up to speed we will be out of touch with the kids. The Age recently posted an article on the oldest Australian on Facebook. I admire this mans progressive nature to learn new skills and not allow technology to scare him off.

I have heard many older folk joke they don't even know where the computers power button is. This man from the industrial revolution keeps up with the technology revolution.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP DJ

Back in the old days we would record a song multiple times onto a tape cassette. That way if we needed as song to play again we wouldn't have to rewind (hi tech stuff I know!)

From there we evolved to Discmans with a fader built into a small flight case with built in power connections. ( We thought we had discovered the answer!!) Next we stepped up with a radio station CD unit that could bend pitch and speed.

Well all that's history, there is a cool program that could fix your praise and worship challenges in a single download!!

Djay-software.com/ is a digital dual turntable program that enables you to scratch, blend tracks, back spin reverse spin and more. Djay uses songs directly from your itunes library so you just drag and play.

Very funky and only 49.95 US

We used it on Sunday and had a fifteen minute set of continuous praise happening it was awesome.

Each week, I sit in church and hear pastors leaders, friends speak with this passion and now I've heard Dave Sharples. It's great that Dave Sarples has not held back because he's infront of leaders that make the changes.

"Fixing our Broken Society" I found it interesting that it was called a debate. It makes me sad to think that anyone would not want to 'fix' the broken in our society and that broken people of my community are disregarded because they don't make headlines and the don't make good tv.
